Terms of Service

Effective 2026-07-06

What Collimer is (and isn’t)

Collimer is an audit tool that probes publicly available AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok) with buyer-intent prompts and produces a scorecard with recommendations for improving your visibility. Collimer is operated by Orrin Consulting, LLC, doing business as (“DBA”) Sandcastle Labs, a Colorado company (“Collimer,” “we,” “us”). We are not affiliated with any AI provider. We are not a search engine, a publisher, or a substitute for legal/marketing/SEO advice.

Acceptance

By submitting a URL to a Free Scan or signing up for an account, you agree to these terms.

What you can do

  • Submit your own website’s URL for a Free Scan.
  • Submit competitor URLs you have a legitimate basis to analyze (e.g. they’re publicly available competitors in your market). Scans of competitor sites are against publicly accessible content only.
  • Share your scorecard publicly (the URL is yours to share).
  • Use Collimer’s recommendations to update your own site.
  • Read, index, and cite this site with attribution, automated agents and AI assistants included. We publish machine-readable surfaces (/llms.txt, /llms-full.txt) for exactly that.

What you can’t do

  • Submit URLs to attack, harass, harm, or impersonate.
  • Submit content you don’t have the right to submit (e.g. private/internal pages requiring authentication).
  • Use the service to scrape, mass-extract, or otherwise overload either Collimer or third-party sites.
  • Reverse-engineer Collimer’s methodology to build a competing product. Use the published methodology page as a reference, not a clone target.
  • Resell scorecards as if they were your own original analysis without attribution.

Free Scan limits

  • Free Scans are rate-limited per email address and per IP address, and subject to a daily service-wide budget cap; when a limit is hit, we may queue, throttle, or refuse the scan.
  • Free scans use a constrained engine + prompt mix compared to paid plans (see the methodology page).
  • We may adjust these limits at any time to keep the free tier sustainable.
  • Plans, prices, and limits are described at https://collimer.com/pricing.
  • Billing handled by Stripe; you authorize Collimer to charge on the subscription cadence you select.
  • You may cancel at any time; you keep access through the paid period; we don’t refund partial months.
  • Annual plans bill at sign-up; pro-rated refunds possible for unused full months at our discretion.
  • Failed payments: 3 retry attempts; service may be paused if dunning fails.

Methodology + accuracy

  • AI assistants are inconsistent run-to-run; Collimer reports distributions with confidence intervals.
  • AI assistants hallucinate; Collimer flags suspected hallucinations but cannot guarantee 100% detection.
  • Recommendations are best-effort and require your judgment to ship.
  • We pin specific model versions; we publish the methodology card on every report.
  • We do not guarantee improved AI search visibility from following Collimer’s recommendations. They are guidance, not warranty.

Your content

You retain ownership of any content you submit. By submitting, you grant Collimer a non-exclusive license to use that content only to provide the service to you (run the scan, store results, generate scorecards, surface in your dashboard). We do not use your submitted content to train AI models, neither ours nor third parties’.

Collimer’s content

Scorecards, recommendations, methodology, and the underlying software are Collimer / Sandcastle Labs property. Public scorecard URLs are shareable but not redistributable in bulk.

Privacy

Use of Collimer is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

Service availability

  • Collimer runs on best-effort uptime; current plans do not include an uptime SLA.
  • Maintenance windows are announced with at least 24 hours notice when feasible.
  • Outages and incidents are communicated via the dashboard and email; a public status page may be added later.

Suspension / termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, abuse the service, or use it for illegal purposes. We will notify you and provide a cure period for non-malicious breaches when reasonable.

Disclaimers

  • The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We do not warrant that AI assistant outputs are accurate, complete, or current.
  • We do not warrant that following Collimer’s recommendations will produce specific business outcomes.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the aggregate liability of Orrin Consulting, LLC (DBA Sandcastle Labs) and its members for any claim arising from your use of Collimer is limited to the greater of:

  • the amount you paid Collimer in the 12 months before the claim, or
  • USD 100.

This applies to direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, and exemplary damages. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits; in those, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Orrin Consulting, LLC (DBA Sandcastle Labs) harmless from claims arising from your misuse of the service or breach of these terms.

Governing law + dispute resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to the service should be brought in the state or federal courts located in Colorado. This doesn’t override consumer-protection rights you can’t waive in your home state.

Changes to these terms

Material changes are announced via email and dashboard 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
